چکیده

Thymus serpyllum (creeping thyme) is a newly introduced medicinal and aromatic plant in Egypt. It was grown hydroponically for this study. The goal to assess the effect of three sandponic media (sand, silica, sand with silica) foliar spraying fulvic acid (without with) on growth, herbage yield, essential oil yield. experiment designed as split plot. main plots involved spraying, while subplots included various media. results showed that cultivation system filled an equal amount silica sand, combined plants acid, produced significantly highest fresh herb weight per square meter appropriate dry Control other treatments, hand, detected lower values. dominant compound thymol. Depending it ranged from 41.80% 53.45%.

Influence of Plant Growth Regulators and Media on In vitro Propagation of Sorbus aucuparia L.

Aucuparia is an important slow growth forest tree with medicinal, industrial and ornamental uses which is applied for reforestation in high altitude of mountain lands. This species has been endangered at northern forests of Iran; therefore micropropagation of adult trees by bud culture may help to reforestation. The best sterilizing treatment was the buds washing with HgCl2% 0.1 solution for 7 ...

Studies on the Chemical Constituents of Thymus serpyllum

Phytochemical investigations on the methanolic extract of Thymus serpyllum resulted in the isolation of 2 new compounds, 3-ketopentatriacontanoic acid (1) and 27-ketotriacontanol (2). The extract also afforded 3 known compounds, 3 β-hydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid (3), 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-sitosterol (4), and dihydroursonic acid (5), detected for the first time from Thymus serpyllum. The struc...

The Effects of some Inorganic-, Synthetic- and Organic-Fertilizers on the Vegetative Growth and Iron Content in Pistachio cv. Ghazvini under Alkaline Conditions

In the current research, the effects of some organic fertilizers as fulvic and humic acids on the vegetative growth of pistachio seedlings in a semi-hydroponic culture containing Fe-EDDHA (as a synthetic fertilizer) and FeSO4 (as an inorganic fertilizer) were investigated. The alkalinity is recognized as a main problem in pistachio orchards, therefore the pH of nutrient solution was ...
